Core values

These are distinctives that we value. They shape who we uniquely are as a community.

Biblical teaching

(John 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12)
The Bible is the story of God repairing the brokenness of our world. We affirm it as truth, revealing all we need for salvation. We communicate Christ from the life-giving words of this book.

Christian lifestyle

A Christian lifestyle tunes a believer to the cadence of Christ. This lifestyle includes the following:

worship

(Psalm 33:1-3; Psalm 104:1)
Together and as individuals, we express admiration to our awesome God.

prayer

(Matthew 6:5-13; Luke 6:12)
Relationships need communication to thrive. Through prayer we build our relationship with God.

investment

(Matthew 6:19-21; Matthew 25:14-30)
We invest in what is significant to us. Giving our time, skills, and financial resources to God through the church is worship.

servant attitude

(Matthew 25:35-40; John 13:1-5; Philippians 2:3-11)
Jesus placed others before himself. We nurture this attitude in our hearts by serving others.

Excellence

(2 Chronicles 2:5; Mark 14:3-9; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
We honor God with our best efforts and resources. Serving with our God-given talents leads to excellence. Evaluation, learning, and ongoing improvement hone our ability to accomplish the mission God has given us.

Outward focus

(Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 15)
Jesus has a heart for people that have broken relationships with God and others. As a church, we champion this outward concern of Christ. Moving beyond inward concerns, we reach outward to connect as many people as possible with Christ.

Relationships with others

(Genesis 2:18-24; Mark 12:28-31)
Life is about relationships. Jesus said loving God and loving others are our most important tasks in this life. From the beginning, God established the family as the building block for society. In a world filled with brokenness, we seek God’s healing for the damage between us.

Relevant communication

(1 Corinthians 9:22)
No message ranks higher priority than the story of Jesus. We creatively use methods that best communicate this truth to our culture today.
